Eric Trump: Jeb’s ‘Chaos President’ Line Seemed ‘Contrived’

‘I think my father did an incredible job punching back’

HEMMER: “And Jeb Bush took a shot the other night and he did hit back with this comment.”

[clip starts]
BUSH: “Donald, you know, is great at — at the one-liners, but he’s a chaos candidate. And he’d be a chaos president.”
[clip ends]

HEMMER: “And that is the memorable line. And on Jimmy Kimmel last night your father said, he has been a little divisive and ultimately everyone has to come together. Now, is that a signal for a change in his tone in his campaign?”

TRUMP: “But you know divisiveness also creates conversation, which I think is really important. But you know, you look at that quote. I mean, who is the most dangerous person in the world? [indecipherable] person that’s drowning, right? When you are on the 10 yard line and you're down by 40 points you start trying to throw ‘Hail Mary’s’. And I was sitting front in center as watching this all thing. And that really came off to me as very, kind of contrived. It seemed like somebody almost written that line and — I think my father did an incredible job punching back. And I think the more memorable line was actually sitting there when you know —you are about to fall off the stage, Jeb. You are about to fall off the stage. And you know, I mean that was played by everybody. But if somebody hits him, he’s willing to hit back and I think that’s an amazing thing.”
