Hillary Ad Thanks SEIU for Trying to Raise Fast Food Workers’ Wages to $15/Hour

‘Your fights are my fights, and as president, I will defend workers’ right to organize and unions’ right to bargain collectively’

“Hello, S-E-I-U! I am so proud to have earned the endorsement of the Service Employees International Union, and your 2 million members. I’ve always been inspired by your work. And since I launched this campaign, I have been so moved by your stories and your determination.

I think about the people that I have met, the woman from Las Vegas who’s been a homecare worker for decades, but hasn’t had a raise in 10 years, 'They are our future.' The childcare workers I met with in Chicago who can barely afford childcare for their own families, the fast food workers risking their jobs to fight for a better deal. I was thrilled to celebrate with you when fast food workers won a $15 minimum wage in New York —a big victory in your important efforts to 'fight for 15' and for a union in communities across America.

Your fights are my fights, and as president, I will defend workers’ right to organize and unions’ right to bargain collectively. I’ll make sure our seniors can retire with dignity and security. And I will make raising incomes for hardworking Americans my mission every single day. Most of all, I’ll be your champion.

There’s so much we can do together. And I’m looking forward to working as hard as I can alongside all of you to build a stronger, safer, fairer, and more prosperous America. Thank you again.”
