Christie: ‘If I Get on the Stage Next September,’ Clinton ‘Won’t Get Within 10 Miles of’ W.H.

‘I’m the person Hillary doesn’t want on the stage for 15 seconds, believe me’

HALPERIN: “Governor, wasn’t that long ago, you were reelected overwhelmingly in your state with broad support for lots of demographic groups on the cover of Time magazine, and seen by a lot of donors as the hope of the Republican Party to win back the White House. You’ve not raised as much money as some others. So, lots of donors watch Morning Joe. Speak to the donors out there maybe who were thinking, maybe Jeb Bush isn’t the right person. Explain them why they should bet on you now, to be the Republican nominee.”
CHRISTIE: “Who do you want standing on the stage in September to take on Hillary Clinton? Who can prosecute the case against Hillary Clinton. You know, last night I didn’t hear enough conversation in my view up there about Hillary Clinton. She’s going to be tough and she’s going to be a real headache for us, come next fall. Who do you think is going to be the person that tested and ready and mature and tough to be able to take on Hillary Clinton? Because, that’s what it’s going to take to win. It’s not going to be just a winning smile. It’s going to be — having to be the person who can take the hits and hit right back and be able to make the case for conservative vision for America’s future, against Hillary Clinton. I’m the person who Hillary doesn’t want on the stage for 15 seconds, believe me. And If I get on the stage next September, Mark I’ll tell you this, she won’t get within 10 miles of the White House.”
SCARBOROUGH: “All right, Governor Chris Christie, thank you so much. We appreciate you being with us.”
CHRISTIE: “Thank you."
SCARBOROUGH: “Congratulations on what many of consider to be a great debate performance."
CHRISTIE: “Thanks. Looking forward to seeing you guys in New York soon."
SCARBOROUGH: “All right. We will see you very soon."
