NBC’s Welker Hypes ‘Truly Staggering’ Clinton’s Double Digit Lead over Sanders in N.H.

‘Secretary Clinton has had that dominant first debate performance’

DIAZ-BALART: "Turning now to the Democrats in the race. They'll be on the trail today because they're going pretty much across the country. Hillary Clinton heading to New Hampshire after coming off what many view is a very strong week for the candidate. New polling shows her pulling away from her closest rival, Bernie Sanders, in Iowa. Kristen Welker is with the Clinton campaign in Manchester. Kristen, good morning."
WELKER: "Hey Jose, good morning to you. That's right. These new numbers that we're seeing are an indication of just how strong of a stretch Secretary Clinton has had, that dominant first debate performance, her testimony before the Benghazi committee, and then of course Vice President Biden's decision not to get into the race. Take a look at the poll numbers, out just yesterday out of Iowa. They're truly staggering, Jose. The Monmouth university poll showing Secretary Clinton with a 41 point lead over Bernie Sanders. She gets 65 percent to his 24 percent. Take a look at another poll. Very similar. She gets 62 percent to Sanders, who gets 24 percent."
