Greta Lambastes Melissa Harris-Perry for ‘Hard Work’ Slave Remark: ‘Completely Ridiculous’ (Mediaite)

Fox News’ Greta Van Susteren ended her show tonight by taking some shots at MSNBC’s Melissa Harris-Perry for her recent remarks about slavery and the phrase “hard work.”

When a guest on Harris-Perry’s show described Paul Ryan as a “hard worker” on Sunday, Harris-Perry jumped in to say people should be careful about using phrases like that. She explained, “I actually keep an image of folks working in cotton fields on my office wall, because it is a reminder about what hard work looks like.”

Well, her Fox rival found that linguistic leap a bit baffling and found it a little “out there” that someone saying “hard work” would be insensitive to the struggles of slaves.
