Durbin: Clinton ‘Has a Long History of Controversy’ that Turns People Off

‘Hillary has a long history of controversy and I think that turns some people off’

SCARBOROUGH: "You understand, coming from a mid west state like you do, sort of  Rustbelt state where a lot of Reagan Democrats used to vote Republican every four years, do you understand why Joe Biden would face up better against say Donald Trump, Jeb Bush? I'm not asking you about Hillary, that's not an intent at all, so let's say that before people [indecipherable] these words from their proper context. So why we are seeing Joe Biden do better in general election right now than other Democratic candidates?"
DURBIN: "Well, I think both Hillary and Joe Biden have credibility on the issues and experience on the issues, which is sorely lacking and I think intentionally so on the Republican side, they're going for outsiders."
SCARBOROUGH: "That's what we do. I'm joking intentionally about ignoring issues."
DURBIN: "But the basic background issue is one that brings to a different conclusion. Joe's had his bumps on the road in his races for president and questions about whether he was misquoting people and such. But Hillary has a long history of controversy and I think that turns people off. I think most of it is manufactured by her critics and her enemies, and I think at this point she still brings the strongest candidacy for president."
