Rubio: Clinton’s E-mail Scandal Shows She Was ‘Not Being Truthful with the American People’

‘First of all it’s pretty clear what she told us and what happened are two very different things’

[excerpt]
DOOCY: "For us, the sound bite of the night last night was where Hillary Clinton, who is the most vulnerable regarding her record, was on the e-mail server, she got bailed out by Bernie Sanders, who said enough of that. Got a big laugh and then they moved on. What did you make of that?"
RUBIO: "Well, they may not care about it, but the people in this country do, because it goes right to the issue of credibility. First of all, it's pretty clear what she told us and what happened are two very different things. Second, it goes to the issue of confidence. These e-mails by the secretary of state were the prime targets for foreign intelligence agencies. As soon as the news came out that she was using a private server, one of the first things I said was those e-mails were vulnerable to the Chinese, the North Koreans, Iran, you name it. I mean, the Russians. And of course that's now we're seeing reports that that was the case. So it shows that she was both incompetent, but quite frankly was not being truthful with the American people and playing games with words."
HASSELBECK: "Sure."
RUBIO: "And it goes to the issue of whether or not you can trust someone or not as well as the credibility issues."
