Let Mitch McConnell Read You His Obamacare-Themed Version of ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas (Mediaite)

Who better to lull you to sleep with his soothing drawl this Christmas than Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, who has a new radio campaign ad that puts his own conservative spin on the classic poem “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas”?

“’Twas the night before Christmas, four years ago,” McConnell recites. “Liberals wanted Obamacare, but Kentucky said no.” He goes on to reference Politifact’s “Lie of the Year” involving President Barack Obama’s promise that Americans could keep their existing health care plans under the Affordable Care Act. Later he rhymes his Democrat opponent’s name, Alison Lundergan Grimes, with “candidate for these times.”
