Sanders: We Did Not Make Any Significant Progress in Making Health Care Affordable with Inflation Act

‘You know, we’ve got a health care system which is dysfunctional’

EXCERPT:

SANDERS: “This bill — and the best thing about this bill — is it puts over $300 billion into sustainable energy and energy efficiency, and as a result of this, my hope and expectation is, you’ll see an explosion in wind, solar, and other forms of sustainable energy. And at this moment in world history, that is exactly what we’ve got to do. On the other hand, I will tell you, given the enormous economic problems facing working families in this country, I was very, very disappointed that we did not go further in addressing the realities facing the average American. You know, we’ve got a health care system which is dysfunctional. We pay the highest prices in the world for our health care and our prescription drugs, and we really did not make any significant progress in making health care affordable, housing, home health care, expanding Medicare. All the needs of the American people that they wanted us to act on, unfortunately, we were unable to go forward."
