Mika Likens Owning ‘Assault Weapons’ To Owning a Giraffe or Elephant

‘I would like to have an elephant in my house, there are rules against these things ... there are things that we are not allowed to have’

BRZEZINSKI: “Can’t the government say it’s — it’s inappropriate to have these massively powerful weapons.
SCARBOROUGH: “Oh, yes.”
BRZEZINSKI: “I mean, I would like to have an elephant in my house.”
SCARBOROUGH: “Well, I mean —“
BRZEZINSKI: “I don’t think I would be allowed, would I?”
SCARBOROUGH: “You — you can try — you can try the —“
BRZEZINSKI: “Would I be allowed go to Africa and get a giraffe. And bring it and put it in my house. No I would not.”
SCARBOROUGH: “I have to say —“
BRZEZINSKI: “There are rules against these things, right? I know it sounds ridiculous, but there are things we’re not allowed to have. Why are we allowed to have these weapons that blow up, literally blow up animals, if you were to go hunting with them?”
SCARBOROUGH: “OK, so — even Michael Bloomberg when we talked to Michael Bloomberg after Sandy Hook said, you know assault weapons, it’s really hard to define what that is. [crosstalk] A lot of that has to do with more cosmetics and it does. A lot has more to do with cosmetics than anything else. And as the mayor said, this is more of a feel good measure for gun control advocates — hold on.”
BRZEZINSKI: “I’d feel better, if that family didn’t have those guns at the house.”
SCARBOROUGH: “Michael — as Michael Bloomberg saying that and that is not going to reduce the number of killings. In — in this situation, the guy was lining people up asking are you a Christian or not. And when they said yes he shot them in the head. And he can do that with a handgun. Again, I’m not raining on everybody’s parade and I’m not here saying that stuff happens. I’m saying that we have mass shootings and we got to figure out a way to stop it.”
