Kevin McCarthy: ‘I Haven’t Put Any Real Thought to the Subpoena’

TRANSCRIPT:

REPORTER: "You were subpoenaed by the January 6 committee. Do you plan to comply with that subpoena? And also, since we saw you last, there was tape that was released that said that you ⁠— that had you talking to Republicans, saying that Trump told you he bore some responsibility for January 6. Trump has denied that. Which is true?"

MCCARTHY: "You know, I haven't put any real thought to the subpoena. What I really thought about is, how are we going to get the Democrats to move when they've known more than a year that they're going to have a baby formula shortage? How are we going to stop the Democrats from raising the gas prices even higher, or they’re going to do some gouging bill that even their own economic adviser, I told him in the past, that’s going to make the prices go higher."
