Politico’s VandeHei: Polls Show a Lot of Voters ‘Don’t Think Hillary Clinton Is Honest’

‘There is anger out there’

SCARBOROUGH: “Let's jump into the fray and get into American politics, which of course, every day is a big news of the day and yesterday we got a couple of really significant poles out of New Hampshire.”
GEIST: "We'll put that calm on hold for a couple of minutes."
SCARBOROUGH: “Yes, let's do that."
GEIST: "We will back to it latter. Let's look at some pretty astounding poll actually. It seems Bernie Sanders tops polls in New Hampshire. With the latest from WMUR/CNN shows him now 16 points over Hillary Clinton in that state. Since July, he's up ten, she is down twelve points. Let's look at the transformation of opinion on who will most likely win this state. Even now, Clinton is falling 26 points since July, while voters overwhelmingly still believe Hillary Clinton has the best shoot at winning the general election by more than 30 points. Her net favorability in the third place -- far behind both Bernie Sanders and the vice president of the United States. Jim Vandehei, what do you make of those numbers?"
JIM VANDEHEI: “I mean, if you look at the polls over the last several months, a lot of voters in a lot of important places don't think Hillary Clinton is honest. And when you look at New York Times front page, Clinton [indecipherable] e-mails to her that contained sensitive information. And that's all people are hearing. It's all they are getting from Hillary Clinton. It's manifesting itself in these polls. I also think at the same time Bernie Sanders taps into something. There is anger out there. Yesterday was great, today is great. We love the calm, we love the humility of the Pope being in town, but when you think about the politics, there is just raw anger and that's why Donald Trump can be nasty and be successful. That's why Bernie Sanders can be a socialist and be successful."
