EXCERPT:

LEE: "You can see here, where they're trying to walk this line. There are Democrats that I've spoken to who said, 'Look, the president looks weak here. He could have come out and owned this moment, this transition in the country where people are taking off their masks on transportation. He didn't do that. Instead, he's being led by the courts.' And then the other side of that is other Democrats say, 'Well, if he did come out, knowing that there's polling that shows Democrats like these mask mandates, at least some of them do, and they -- they're more inclined to mask up, and so he risks offending those people in his part own party.' And so what you're seeing is then this just sort of allowing the courts to make this decision, even though you heard White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki to say moments ago that public health decisions should not be made by the courts. What the concern is that some Democrats have is that this just looks like a lack of leadership on really critical issues."
