“The power of these messages and there will also be implications of some of the policy proposals. The Wall Street Journal looked at the cost of Bernie Sanders proposals so far. The price tag, $18 trillion over a decade. The ‘Journal’ describes it as, ‘the largest peacetime expansion of government in a modern American history.’ It includes more than $16 trillion for Medicare and social security expansion, a trillion for infrastructure, and billions for other programs like free tuition at public colleges, and paid leave. The self-proclaimed Democratic socialist plans to pay for it with a tax increase that calls for $6.5 trillion in revenue over a decade.”
