McConnell: Obama ‘Going to Win the Short Term Battle But We Won the Argument’
MCCONNELL: “We know, Bill, that there is a bipartisan majority who oppose the deal. Senate Democrats have abused a procedural device to prevent the president from getting a motion of disapproval, which he would veto. But he’s going to win the short-term battle, but we won the argument with the American people. There is overwhelming opposition to the deal. The Israelis oppose the deal. Our Sunni Arab allies are nervous and apprehensive now, feeling they can’t trust us anymore. This is going to be a defining issue for the 2016 election – not only for the White House, but for the continued control of the Senate. Not a single Republican in the House or the Senate supports this deal. Many Democrats don't support it either. And it is going to be one of those rare issues that has a long shelf life and will be out there for the American people to render a judgment about in the fall of 2016."
