Mercedes Schlapp: Nancy Pelosi Running for Reelection Helps Republicans

‘With Nancy Pelosi run, it actually helps the Republicans’

EXCERPT:

VARNEY: "President Biden approval rating has dropped to 41 percent. That’s in the latest Pew survey. It was 39 percent in the Harris poll earlier. These are terrible numbers. And there’s this. Speaker Pelosi has announced that she is running for reelection this November. She turns 82 in March. Mercedes Schlapp with us this morning. Here is the question, does Speaker Pelosi running for office again help or hurt the Republicans in the November elections?"
SCHLAPP: "Good morning, Stuart. Well clearly, I think that with Nancy Pelosi run, it actually helps the Republicans, because not only whether the Republican Party be running against Biden's policies, failed policies as we’ve seen so far, but also running against Nancy Pelosi's policies, whether it'd be mostly on the reckless spending component on the fact that they’ve been pushing radical agenda items through out this past year on a variety of issues, and really they have an extra I want to say villain that they can put the blame on for why we’re seeing a lack of what I would say economic prosperity in America, and the fact that you have issues like inflation and -- and other issues that they’re focused on that I think, will, in essence, hurt the Democrats help Republicans."
