McPike: RNC Pledge Signing ‘Undercuts’ Trump’s Anti-Establishment Message

‘Many of these Republicans voters do not want to see an establishment candidate win’

MCPIKE: “I don't know about that. Because I do think that it undercuts his message somewhat as anti-establishment. And that’s what we're seeing in the polls, that many of these Republican voters do not want to see an establishment candidate win. As we've seen, you know, at least 50 percent in some of these national polls are supporting outsider candidates, whether it's Trump or Ben Carson or Carly Fiorina. And remember –“

HOLMES: “Erin, Ben Carson and Carly Fiorina are proud Republicans, and they're seeing their numbers go up.”

MCPIKE: “Yeah. But also think about it this way. Ted Cruz has been so successful by thrashing the establishment time and time again. Now, he obviously is in fourth and fifth place in some of these national polls, but he is coming up. You see a lot of these other candidates who are starting to worry a lot about Ted Cruz for some of those very reasons.”
