Amy Holmes: One of Trump’s ‘Most Devastating Attacks’ Was Calling Jeb ‘Low Energy’

‘At this point in the race, his supporters and Republican primary voters are not necessarily motivated by ideological purity’

MELVIN: “If Republicans, Amy, want the adult in the room, then why is Donald Trump still polling so high all over the country?”
HOLMES: “Well, for the reasons that we said. At this point in the race that his supporters and Republican primary voters are not necessarily motivated by ideological purity. They like the big, brash personality. They like that he seems to be a leader, speak his mind. But I was here with Jeb Bush, when he says that Trump is insulting his way to the nomination. The insults that work are the ones that land. When Donald Trump said that Jeb Bush was low energy, I think that was actually one of e most devastating attacks.”
