DOKOUPIL: "Nine people are facing felony charges for a series of brazen smash-and-grab robberies in San Francisco. Five of the suspects were charged in connection with this incident at a Louis Vuitton store on Friday. You can see one person running away from the scene, clothes in hand, as officers surrounded nearby vehicle, appearing to strike it with their batons before possibly arresting the occupant. A video of the aftermath shows a shattered glass front door to the store, and all of it comes amid a string of similar smash-and-grab robberies all across California. Governor Gavin Newsom says there will be an increased police presence around large retail centers across the Bay Area, at least.”
