Two animal rights advocates protesting the use of hog crates climbed on stage and interrupted Chris Christie's speech Saturday on the Des Moines Register Political Soapbox at the Iowa State Fair.

The two men yelled "Animals want to live," and held a banner with a picture of a hog in a gestation crate that said "It's not food. It's violence."

Christie vetoed a New Jersey bill last year that would have prohibited the use of the crates, which some saw as an appeal to voters in Iowa, the nation's top producer of hogs and the lead voting state.
