Jimmy Carter on Cancer Therapy: I Don’t See It as a ‘Hardship on Me’

‘I will do what the doctors recommend for me to extend my life as much as possible’

KING: “Good morning President Carter, Christopher King with CBS 46 News, Atlanta. You fought many political battles throughout your career. How tough do you expect this fight against cancer will be?”

CARTER: "It won't be tough on my part. I'm an acquiescent and cooperating patient, and within the bounds of my judgment, I’ll do what the doctors recommend to extend my life as much as possible. So I don't look on this as any hard hardship on me."
