SMERCONISH: "Brianna, I can’t match his historical analysis. I can only say that I’ve been paying close attention for the last three decades and I’m not accustomed to having the level of concern that I have today about the security of the United States. And I don’t mean from foreign threat, I mean from domestic threat. I worry about the stability of our country in ways that I never have previously. I’ve grown up politically worried about things like will Social Security be there and what should be the tax rate and yes, to an extent, the Cold War. But I think we face real crisis from within.”
