EXCERPT:

HEGSETH: “It’s incredible. I dare you to go to any National Guard armory, frankly any active duty infantry battalion and find as much equipment as the Taliban now has. You pointed out uniforms. How about body armor, how about 15000 pieces of night vision goggles? How about 162,000 radios most of which are encrypted?  How about biometric data they’re using to hunt down our allies right now? 22,000 Humvees, a thousand armored personnel carriers, many of which are mind resistant. 64,000 machine guns, 358,530 rifles including sniper rifles from 176 artillery. What could go wrong there? Not to mention over 100 rotary aircraft including 33 Blackhawks and they’ve got 4 c-130s, rolling down the strip and a one-way trip, the Taliban has formed, not to mention 60 other fixed wing aircraft. I didn’t even mention 800 heavy trucks they have paid for by our taxpayers. They are going to look like us, they’re gonna be able to moves like us, they are going to be able to be protected like us and thy’re gonna shoot like us, they're gonna communicate like us and they are going to be able to see in the dark like us. They are not as well-trained as we are, that’s true but give them time with the Chinese to become proficient with this. We’ve handed them one of the most lethal militaries in the world who ligitimize terror state right there on the planet.”
