Concha: Unlike with BLM/Antifa, Reuters Is Concerned About Cuban Protesters Spreading Covid Because They’re Mostly Republicans

‘Trust me, if this was a Black Lives Matter protest in south Florida, rest assured, there would be zero concern over a possible Covid outbreak’

EXCERPT:

CONCHA: "Is it rhetorical Thursday, Steve? Look, if you are keeping score at home, the mostly peaceful protests from last year that were celebrated by many in the media, that was during pre-vaccine, right, the summer of love in 2020. The argument was that the cause spurring the protest was bigger than the threat that the virus caused. You look in 'The New York Times,' July 6th, 2020, this headline is amazing. 'Are protests dangerous? What experts say may depend on who is protesting what.' Oh, so it’s political? 'Public health experts decried the anti-lockdown protests as dangerous gatherings in the pandemic. Health experts seem less comfortable doing so now that the marches are against racism.' So we see it, obviously, and you mentioned that great number before from Pew where 6 in 10 Cuban Americans identify as Republicans. So suddenly Covid is a problem again. And then, look, Reuters last year — you brought up one headline, I will give you another — 'Despite Trump’s 'law and order' rhetoric, protesters won’t back down.' Here's what they say in the story, guys. 'The demonstrations were largely peaceful, but anger boiled over some protests as protesters clashed with police and stores were looted or set on fire.' There is no mention of police injuries. There’s no mention of the amount of damage done to businesses, which climbed into the billions. Trust me, if this was a Black Lives Matter protest in south Florida, rest assured, there would be zero concern over a possible Covid outbreak based on the precedent and based on the politics, guys."
