Rebeccah Heinrichs: I Tell Young Women To Get Married and Have Children Before Time Runs Out

‘Children are not just a burden on society’

HEINRICHS: “It is hollow. This is something people on the right and left are bad at. People are afraid to affirm to children that their time, talent and abilities and education are never wasted on their children. I love my work. I am not saying that women should not work. What I am saying is that they should prioritize what is most important before time runs out. Not just having children but having children take time. And the self-sacrifice brings out great joy. Children are not just a burden on society. This makes life worth living and the pursuit of happiness is constituted in pouring into other people in relationships and self-sacrifice. It’s something all of us need to be better at encouraging young women to do.”
