Matthews: It’s ‘Pissant’ for Boehner To Blame Problems on Divided Government

‘You have to learn how to be a grown-up’

MATTHEWS: “I think that's a great question. I'm also going to talk about what Boehner said the other day. The speaker said, we can't get nothing done because we have a divided government in this country, a divided country. Well, darn it, we're going to have a divided country the rest of our lives. There’s not going to be a one party state. This isn't going to be [INDECIPHERABLE] with one party. There’s going to be two parties and some parties are going to control the House, and some the Senate, and some the White House. It's very odd to have a sustained period where -- and we don't want a sustained period in this country of one party running all three. And so, get used to it guys, you've got to compromise. And Boehner is wrong. Divided government is not an excuse for doing nothing. We’ve had successful compromises in the past. We’ve gotten stuff done. This is just pissant to blame this failure of our government to move, and the 9 percent approval rating of Congress, on the fact that it's divided. They have an aisle down the middle. It’s always been divided. What's he talking about?"
