Hillary on Planned Parenthood: ‘Unfortunate’ They’re Under ‘Such a Concerted Attack’

‘It is unfortunate that Planned Parenthood has been the object of such a concerted attack for so many years’

“I don’t have all the facts but Planned Parenthood has apologized for the insensitivity of the employee who was taped and they will continue to answer questions for Congress and others, but for more than a century Planned Parenthood has provided essential services for women. Not just reproductive health services, including access to affordable family planning, but cancer screenings, for example and other health checkups. I think it is unfortunate that Planned Parenthood has been the object of such a concerted attack for so many years and it’s really an attack against a women’s rights to choose, to make the most personal, difficult decisions that any women would face based on her faith and her – and the medical advice that she is given. So I am hoping that this situation will not further undermine the very important services that Planned Parenthood provides across our country… We have the Affordable Care Act, there is – there are options for a lot of woman to seek medical care that didn’t have those before. But Planned Parenthood still remains a very important part of the whole health care delivery system, particularly, but not exclusively for poor woman. I just strongly believe that we need to make sure that it can continue to do that well into the future.”
