Fox News Panel on Racial Diversity in U.S. Courts: Difference of Perspectives Shouldn’t Be Because of Skin Color

‘Why does the difference in perspective have to mean skin color?’

EXCERPT:

YOO: "That is undeniably true, but why does the difference in perspective have to mean skin color? If you are being sentenced by a judge, do you want their sentence to be different, do you want to go to jail for a different length of time because of the skin color of the judge? That’s totally different than whether they are a public defender or a prosecutor or a corporation, went to a different law school, what region they are from. That is what I think is so nefarious about this, is to equate skin color with the way someone thinks, their ideology and beliefs. I think that that contravenes with what Dr. Martin Luther King was talking about."
