Brian Kilmeade: We Should Be ‘Clearing the Water’ of Sharks

‘You would think that they’d have a way of clearing the waters for a competition of this level’

Those watching the J-Bay Open surfing competition in South Africa on Sunday were treated to some horrifying, real-time TV drama: Professional surfer Mick Fanning’s unbelievable escape from being attacked by a shark.

Footage shows a fin circling Fanning, and then our view is obstructed by a wave. “Holy Shit,” the announcer says, as someone on the scene yells at everyone to get out of the water. Relief is tangible once the camera catches an unhurt Fanning climb onto a jet ski. Julian Wilson, Fanning’s competitor, was also pulled to safety out of the water.

Raw Story isolated footage of host’s Brian Kilmeade’s analysis of the situation, namely, why haven’t we cleared sharks out of the water?
