Sen. Cornyn on Border Crisis: The Biden Administration Seems to Have No Interest in Enforcing the Law

‘All the signals they are sending is if you can make it to our borders, you’re going to be able to successfully migrate into the United States regardless of what the law says’

EXCERPT:

CORNYN: "What ever happened to enforcing the law, the Biden administration seems to have no interest in enforcing the law and all the signals they are sending is if you can make it to our borders, you’re going to be able to successfully migrate into the United States regardless of what the law says. We know intermixed among these unaccompanied children are sex offenders, are criminal aliens, people who’ve committed very serious crimes, and of course the cartels, the smugglers who get paid five, six, seven thousand dollars a person to smuggle people in the United States. They have a business model and an incentive to place as many people in the United States as they can. In the meantime, I’ve heard zero from the administration about what they plan to do to eliminate Catch and Release. Other than to build more holding facilities in places like Midland and Dallas. But the Border Patrol tells me you can’t build enough facilities to deal with this. You have to deal with what they call the pull factors, which is the impression that if you make to the border you're going to be able to get into the United States."
