Colbert: Ted Cruz Was Being a Good Dad Unlike the Other Dads Who Huddled with Their Kids for Warmth

‘When the going gets tough, Ted Cruz gets gone’

COLBERT: “‘Cause you know what they say, “When the going gets tough, Ted Cruz gets gone.” The senator got a lot of criticism, so he immediately swallowed his pride, pulled himself up by his own bootstraps, and threw his daughters under a bus: “With school canceled for the week, our girls asked to take a trip with friends. Wanting to be a good dad, I flew down with them last night and am flying back this afternoon.” See? He was just being a good dad. Unlike all those terrible fathers who were huddling with their kids for warmth.”
