Marc Thiessen: Biden Inaugural Address Was ‘Spectacular’

‘It was just what the country needed’

EXCERPT:

THIESSEN: "Yeah, I think his inaugural address was spectacular today, and it was just what the country needed. We’re a country that has been wounded by rancor and division, and now an insurrection. And his speech was like a soothing balm for those wounds. He said let’s start afresh, let's listen to each other, he reached out with an olive branch directly to Trump supporters and said let’s give each other a chance. You know, you were pointing out earlier about how you’ve been on the campaign trail in this progressive primary where people were trying to go cut to the left of each other. And Joe Biden campaigned and won as a moderate, as a centrist and as someone who was going to unite the country and reach out to Republicans and try and forge consensus. His challenge is, and I think he hinted at it at the speech, he said it requires so much more than words.”
