Jack Lew: ‘We’ve Waited Long Enough’ on Putting Woman on $10 Bill

‘We have every intention of honoring a woman and we’re looking forward to making a decision very soon’

“We are committed, as I have been from the beginning in this process, to making a decision that will put a woman on our currency, and it will do it as soon as possible. That’s why the $10 bill was chosen because we have a sequence that’s based on, really the security of our currency, to make sure that our currency is safe as possible from counterfeiting. So the next bill up is the $10. I think we’ve waited long enough. We have every intention of honoring Alexander Hamilton. We have every intention of honoring a woman, and we are looking forward to making a decision very soon.”
