In a new video apology posted Thursday night, pop star Ariana Grande explained that she’s “actually never been prouder to be an American” and said she was ready to “take responsibility” for her actions inside a California donut shop.

The two-time Grammy-nominated singer explained that she wanted to issue a second apology because she felt the statement she released Wednesday missed the mark.

“I just want to make a video to apologize again for the whole donut fiasco and craziness because I feel like the apology I posted, I kind of missed my opportunity to actually sincerely apologize and express how I was feeling because I was too busy preaching about my issues with the food industry, which is, like, not I feel like relative,” she said. “I feel like I could have expressed myself in a different way.”
