Martha MacCallum: Trump Continues ‘To Break All the China,’ ‘Scolds’ Those Who Abandoned Him, Perhaps ‘Eyeing a Run in 2024’

‘Keep in mind that the government has already passed more Covid relief than any prior stimulus in the nation’s history’

EXCERPT:

MACCALLUM: "Good evening, everybody. I am Martha MacCallum and this is The Story. Tonight, as the year winds down, President Trump continues to break all the China, so to speak, and rattle some cages, making his policy preferences for this country crystal clear. He is scolding GOP senators who he says have abandoned him, and he believes they will be 'primaried' in 2022. He wants $2,000 in Covid relief checks, a move that puts him in a strange position of being in agreement with Nancy Pelosi, and one that House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy has just moments ago said he will object to. So keep in mind that the government has already passed more in Covid relief than any prior stimulus in the nation’s history. More than the New Deal, more than the Obama bill after the financial meltdowns of 2007 and '08. That one was $1 trillion in today’s money. At that point it was a gasp-worthy figure. But these collective Covid bills are knocking on the door of $3 trillion. That comes down to $8,845 for every single person in the country.”
