Rep. Mikie Sherrill: This Is a President that Does Not Want to Hear About Russian Aggression

‘This is a president that does not want to hear about Russian aggression and has not handled it appropriately’

EXCERPT:

SHERRILL: “The very first thing that should happen right now is that the president of the United States should be speaking out about this forcefully against this attack. Unfortunately, he’s doing what he always does with respect to Russia, and trying to deflect and move attention away from this attack. You know, this is really striking, to me. I’m a former Russian policy officer, and I will tell you from the start, his attitude towards Russia has been very concerning. And we saw at Helsinki when the United States intelligence said that Russia had hacked into our elections in 2016. The president said, no, I asked Putin. He said they didn’t. I mean, imagine that. He refused when I was in the Situation Room asking to have president commit to getting to the bottom of Russian bounties placed on our service members, refused to even read his briefing books. This is a president that does not want to hear about Russian aggression and he certainly has not handled it appropriately.”
