Clinton Fundraiser Steve Rattner: Email Revelations ‘a Little Troubling’

‘This was the self-policing kind of decision, so the questions will continue’

SORKIN: “Steve Rattner, you're a Hillary guy. Come on. Does this not upset you a little bit?”

RATTNER: “I didn't get my talking points before I came on here. It upsets me a little bit, I have to say. It’s a little troubling. Hillary campaign --” [crosstalk]

SORKIN: “But not troubling enough for you to say enough.”

RATTNER: “Well, I think -- I’d like to understand a little bit few more of the facts. The campaign put out a statement saying basically that these 15 e-mails that weren't turned over were fragmented, or couldn't be recovered or -- they have an answer. But it is –“

QUICK: “No it's the bigger problem. Look, there may not have been anything solicitous in those 15 e-mails, the bigger question is what else is missing. If the records are incomplete, and we can point to these 15 that we know for sure are –“[Crosstalk]

RATTNER: “Sure. I get it. It raises questions about the -- remember she turned over maybe half of her e-mails. The other half were deemed to be personal. And this was a self-policing kind of decision. And so the questions will continue. And I get that. I’m sure she does too.”

SORKIN: “OK. We are going to leave it there. Eamon, thank you for that report. In the meantime, we're going to talk about another issue that Hillary Clinton often talks about as do others. The widening gap in income inequality has some of the biggest names in business saying the country can't afford to ignore the issue.”
