Capeheart: Optics of Obama Attending Fundraisers Right After Shooting Are ‘Awful’

The Washington Post writer also cautioned the president against visiting South Carolina too quickly

CAPEHART: “I want to be clear about something. I am not saying that president should not go down to South Carolina. I am saying he shouldn’t – he doesn’t need to go immediately. But absolutely when the funerals happen, particularly the pastor’s funeral, where he – close personal relationship and the pastor was the state senator. That’s when the president should go and that’s when if he is allowed to give eulogy, when he could start having this --” [Crosstalk]

SCARBOROUGH: “What about the other part of this, on the fundraisers, said unfair attack. The president, should if he cancel the fundraiser –“

CAPEHART: “I don’t know if he should cancel that. But clearly appearance wise it’s awful.”
