‘I think we ought to have tougher gun laws in South Carolina’

KIMPSON: “But we -- it's clear, the constitution allows us to enact police powers. So, therefore, we can limit constitutional rights based on the data that’s relevant to the city and the state. And I think we ought to have tougher gun laws in South Carolina, but the debate and the narrative has been driven largely by the NRA and the special interest groups coming in from outside of South Carolina who won't let us move forward in that regard.”
