ABC Reporter to W.H.: Does Obama Agree LeBron Is the Best Basketball Player?

Jim Avila also asked for the president’s reaction to the Blackhawks winning the Stanley Cup

AVILA: "If I may, I'm going to change subject just a bit."
EARNEST: “Sure."
AVILA: "Did the president watch the Blackhawks last night and does he have a reaction to their standing [indecipherable]?"
EARNEST: “I don't know whether or not the president had the opportunity to see the game. Those of you who followed president on Tweeter know that he had an opportunity to tweet about this. The president is unabashed advocate for his home town team in Chicago. And so he's not -- while he doesn’t not closely follow hokey over the course of regular season, he is obviously very pleased to see the Blackhawks winning the Stanley Cup for the third time in six years. He certainly does look forward to welcome them -- welcoming them to the White House once again."
AVILA: "[off-mike] one more on sports. LeBron James says that he's the best player in the world and they're going to win. President's obviously [indecipherable] basketball fan. Does he have an opinion whether LeBron James is the current best player in the world?"
EARNEST: “I think the president would probably say that those are the kinds of claims that you prove on basketball court. And over the last several weeks, I think Mr. James has assembled a pretty good case for himself."
