Betsy DeVos: ‘It’s Really Not a Matter of if Schools Reopen, It’s a Matter of How They Reopen Safely’

‘And President Trump, Vice President Pence and I continue to point out that school leaders have to consider the health of the whole child as they make reopening decisions’

EXCERPT:

DEVOS: “As the Vice President has already noted, there are so many measures that we need to be considering when looking at the importance of children getting back into school and into a classroom and with their friends and peers and with their teachers. And President Trump and Vice President Pence and I continue to point out that school leaders have to consider the health of the whole child as they make reopening decisions. Every student here in Indiana and across America must continue learning. So it’s really not a matter of if schools reopen, it’s a matter of how they reopen safely. And how they reopen is best guided by local education leaders in concert with parents who know their students, their teachers and the health situation in their specific area the best.”
