HOLMES NORTON: "The name change was necessary because it’s a racial slur. Because even before the -- the George Floyd demonstrations indicated that the nation will no longer tolerate that; we in the nation’s capital won't tolerate it. The name change should have occurred years ago. I had a bill to bring the team back to the district, couldn't move it in the Congress because we had to get federal land, because it is federal land. And of course now I can move that bill but there is still no guarantee that that land will be used for this team."
