Dem Rep. Shalala: ‘This Is a Tragedy for Florida, My District Is Devastated by the Coronavirus’

‘I have deep concerns about Florida opening up too soon without starving the virus’

EXCERPT:

SHALALA: "You know, this is -- this is a tragedy for Florida. My district is devastated by the Coronavirus, not just employment but obviously a terrible deaths. I have deep concerns about Florida opening up too soon without starving the virus. We still haven’t starved the virus here so we can do contact tracing. We’re way out of line with what public health people are telling us, and if people get out and go to restaurants, particularly go inside of restaurants or are congregating in close quarters, we’re going to see more infections, more hospitalizations, and unfortunately, tragically more deaths.”
