Christie: If We Wait To Test Every American To Reopen Our Economy, ‘We Won’t Have an Economy Left’

‘We won’t have an economy left’

EXCERPT:

CHRISTIE: "It's very important, but it's not the be-all and end-all, Linsay. It's important for us to be able to test, but if we wait until we can test every American to be able to reopen our economy, we won't have an economy left. And that's a simple fact of what's going on in our country right now. People are growing frustrated. You have states that won't give any timelines to people as to whether they're going to be able to leave their homes. You have states right now who have closed parks and golf courses, people can't leave their home to go for a walk. This isn't what we need to do now. We've been shut down now for about five weeks.  The American people need a timeline from their governors as to when they're going to do this. Now, people complained when the President said he wanted to do it, so he did what I think the Constitution requires, which is to let the governors do it. But now every governor has an obligation to start telling people when they're going to get there on some semblance of their lives back, especially when they gonna get to go back to work, whether their children are going to get back to go back to school."
