President Obama -- who once endorsed the view that he's America's first Jewish president -- has also boasted that no U.S. president has done more to protect Israel than he has.

"I can say that no U.S. president, no administration has done more to ensure that Israel can protect itself than this one,” he told the Adas Israel Congregation during a 2015 speech.

Yet despite these past assurances he's aligned with Israel's national security interests, today the Obama Administration let a U.N. resolution condemning Israeli settlements pass the Security Council -- something many anti-Israel Middle Eastern states had long sought, but no American president has ever signed off on. And for good reason.

“Israel rejects this shameful anti-Israel resolution at the U.N. and will not abide by its terms,” Mr. Netanyahu said in a statement. “At a time when the Security Council does nothing to stop the slaughter of half a million people in Syria, it disgracefully gangs up on the one true democracy in the Middle East, Israel, and calls the Western Wall ‘occupied territory.’”

Israel says Obama is stabbing them in the back.

"The US administration secretly cooked up with the Palestinians an extreme anti-Israeli resolution behind Israel's back which would be a tailwind for terror and boycotts," an Israeli official told the Jerusalem Post.

"President Obama could declare his willingness to veto this resolution in an instant but instead is pushing it. This is an abandonment of Israel which breaks decades of US policy of protecting Israel at the UN and undermines the prospects of working with the next administration of advancing peace," he added.
