Rand Paul Urges Warrants for NSA Spying: Appoint 24-Hour Judges (RealClearPolitics)

Sen. Rand Paul spoke Wednesday afternoon in an extended filibuster-style speech on the Senate floor, asking Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to allow debate and amendments to the PATRIOT Act before they vote on its renewal.

One amendment Sen. Paul suggested would provide for the Federal government to hire as many new judges as needed to expedite the process of getting warrants for terrorist suspects, making the National Security Agency's controversial "bulk collection" of internet and telephone data unnecessary.
