Whitmer: We Don’t Have Enough Tests and a Number of Our Hospitals Are at Capacity

‘We are going day-to-day today in of having the N95 masks, gowns, gloves for our frontlines’

RUSH TRANSCRIPT:
WHITMER:  "So we don’t have enough tests and I know that’s not unique new Michigan — to Michigan. Issues across the country in order to really have a handle on how many people have had covid-19 at how prevalent it is we really need to be doing much more robust testing. Right now we’ve got a number of hospitals that are already at capacity and we are setting up an off-site field hospital at tcf, working with the army corps of engineers. And the vice president, who’s been very helpful and we’re really grateful for that, but we know right now that we are going day-to-day today in of having the n95 masks, gowns, gloves for our frontline’s and that’s I think where we are spending so much of our energy, trying to get more of this stockpile, trying to contract with anyone where we can get these materials have Michigan businesses ramping up production."
