Dr. Bill Bennett Talks to Martha MacCallum About How Kids, Families Can Learn To Cope with Changes

‘You read, you pray, you spend time together’

EXCERPT:

BENNETT: "Well, first of all, people should talk to their parents, parents of young children should talk to their parents, even if the young ones can’t see their grandparents, 'What did you do at times like this? What did you do when you had to hunker down?' You teach them. There’s lots of online education available to kids. You play games. You talk. You listen to music. I remember before there were those gadgets in your hands, there were things to do. You read. You pray. You spend time together. And you go outdoors, which is a good thing to do. Never underestimate the resilience of the American people. Yeah, are we worried? Should we be worried? Absolutely. Should we take the precautions? Sure. But a guarded optimism here about who we are and how we will get back. You know, I’m encouraged. I’m pretty much encouraged daily. This thing had a head start. These things always have a head start. Now, I think our know-how is catching up."
