ROBERTS: “Very close to $1 trillion. $850 billion at the moment and counting. This is sounding an awful lot like the financial crisis of 2008, 2009 and what it’s — the differences this time around the economy is strong. The government is ordering part of its two shut down. We look like we were in danger at the U.S. economy collapsing. One of the first thing that the president wants to do is to get actual cash money in the hands of American taxpayers in the form of a check. We do not know how much or who it would go to. But the president very clear today saying that people that make $1 million a year do not need $1,000 check. Another tab at the government is looking at fulfilling is animmediate — additional $29 billion after that. The treasury secretary and members of the president’s economic team, Eric who is the liaison between the White House and Capitol Hill and Larry Kudlow all out there today trying to sell Republican senators on the need to spend all of this money to keep the economy afloat.
