Pelosi on if the First Woman President Is a Republican: ‘That’s Okay’

‘We’d like to see a woman president’

EXCERPT:

PELOSI: "That's okay. I mean — first of all, we have Republican women in the Congress. I have to say, after the last election, 2018, where in the most gerrymandered, voter-suppressed political arena you could name, 106 women were elected. 91 of them were Democrats, because we made a decision over the years that we would ever increase our numbers in the Congress. Now, just because we're women, we have some issues we work together on, Me Too, ending trafficking and the rest, but by and large, we don't have that much in common, the Congress. So, again, a woman, we'd like to see a woman president. If it's a Republican, hopefully it would be somebody who shares our views about all the things that Katherine talked about earlier. But it doesn't mean that just because she's a woman that that would be something positive, as it was in the election when he had woman vice presidential candidate on the Republican side, did not share any of our views about some of the issues that Katherine referenced earlier.”
